Protect your move
Moving valuation
Although our professional movers certainly use caution when moving your furniture and household items, unforeseen accidents do happen sometimes. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to protect your belongings if the unexpected happens during your move.
As a full-service moving company, Eastland provides two different level of liability to our clients referred to as valuation coverage. The first one is Released Value Protection and the second one is Full Value Protection.
Moving Valuation vs Moving Insurance
Moving Valuation and Moving Insurance are two completely different things. Valuation coverage is simply the amount of liability that Eastland is going to accept in the case your belongings have any damages, or are lost during your move.
On the other hand, moving insurance that might be provided to you by your homeowners’ policy is completely different. We recommend discussing it with an insurance provider since it is very different legal transaction and with different policy terms.
Full value protection
EastLand moving protection plans
Our Full Value Protection Plan is designed to compensate you if something happens during the moving process with the belongings we are moving for you. Based on important conditions, Eastland can repair items that have been damaged during your move and replace items that have either been lost or are not repairable, up to a minimum amount that you have declared.
How does the Full Value Protection Option work?
The Full Value protection offered by Eastland is calculated by multiplying the estimated weight of your shipment by $6 per pound. This is also included upfront with every estimate we initially provide.
Released Value Protection
If you decide that you don`t want to go with the Full Value Protection Plan, you will still be covered by the minimum valuation option, also known as Released Value Protection. This option is automatically included in the cost of your interstate move and is calculated by multiplying the estimated weight of your shipment by $ 0.60 per pound.
